Who We Are

Komodo Escape is an independent guide to Komodo National Park. We publish the routes, boat types, seasons and costs in plain numbers, then help you turn that into a trip over WhatsApp.

We are not a boat owner, so we have nothing to talk you into. What changes our advice is your dates, your budget and how much time you actually have in Labuan Bajo.

Why Plan It With Us

Four things we do differently from a booking page.

Real prices, in writing
Day trips, cruises and park fees quoted as ranges you can budget against — not “from” prices.
Routes before boats
We start from what you want to see, then work out which itinerary and boat gets you there.
Season-aware advice
Sea conditions and visibility change through the year. We say plainly when a month is a bad idea.
Operator questions
The safety and inclusion checks worth asking any operator before you pay a deposit.

Day Trip, Cruise or Private Boat

Three ways into Komodo National Park, and who each one suits.

Snorkelling stop on a Komodo day trip

Day Trips

One long day out of Labuan Bajo covering the headline stops. Shared speedboat, or USD 800 for the whole boat.

Overnight cruise boat at anchor in Komodo National Park

Overnight Cruises

from USD 300 / person

Three days, two nights aboard a shared phinisi. You reach the quieter sites and get sunrise on Padar.

Phinisi under sail in Komodo National Park

Private Charter

from USD 5,300 / night

A phinisi to yourselves, priced per yacht per night rather than per person. The route is built around your group.

How planning works

From First Message to Boarding

Four steps, all of it over WhatsApp or email.

  1. Tell us your dates

Travel dates, group size, and whether you are coming via Bali or Jakarta.

  2. We shortlist routes

Two or three itineraries that fit your window, with what each one costs and skips.

  3. You pick and confirm

We put you onto the operator, with the inclusions and park fees written out.

  4. Departure day

Pickup details, what to pack, and what the sea is likely to be doing that week.

Most trips are settled within a day or two of messaging. WhatsApp replies are fastest between 9 AM and 6 PM WITA.

What You Came to See

The landmarks every itinerary is built around.

Two travellers at the three-bay viewpoint on Padar Island, boats moored in the bay below

Padar Island

The three-bay viewpoint, best climbed at first light before the heat and the crowds arrive.

Pink sand and shallow reef at Pink Beach, Komodo

Pink Beach

Sand tinted by crushed red coral, and a reef good enough that most people stay in the water.

A Komodo dragon on the trail in Komodo National Park

Komodo & Rinca

Dragons in the wild, walked with a ranger. Rinca is usually the quieter of the two.

Snorkelling over the reef at Siaba, Komodo

The Reefs

Manta Point, Batu Bolong and Siaba — snorkelling that is worth planning the route around.
